Trading Conditions

Trade Nation essentially offers trading on one commission-free account, with a maximum leverage of 30:1.  Trade Nation boasts fixed spreads of 0.60 pips for the EUR/USD but charges an overnight interest fee of 2.5%.  Full support is offered for the MT4 and Trade Nation (CloudTrade) platforms.  Trade Nation does not require a minimum deposit to begin trading, but minimum transactions start at 0.1 lots.  Trading instruments include Forex, CFDs, Indices, Shares, Commodities, Futures, and Bonds, and accounts are denominated in USD, EUR, DKK, and SEK.  Lastly, Trade Nation allows scalping and hedging but does not offer copy trading on its accounts.

Note that Trade Nation does not offer Islamic Swap-free accounts.

Demo Accounts

Trade Nation offers a free demo account called the practice platform, where customers can test out trading strategies with £10,000 in virtual funds. Practice accounts last for 500 trades.  The broker also offers a one-to-one walkthrough with the demo account, which can be requested via a callback service on the website.

Spreads and Commissions

Trade Nation prides itself on being transparent about its trading fees. Customers benefit from low, fixed spreads at Trade Nation with both the EUR/GBP and EUR/USD at 0.60 pips.  Aside from spreads, the only other charge is overnight interest applied to trades. The amount depends on the market being traded and the direction of the trade.

  • Bank Transfers: Deposits can take three days to be processed.

Bonus Structure

Trade Nation offers a loyalty scheme, where customers receive cash back for every trade. Each customer will receive a sign-up bonus of 1,000 points upon opening an account, and one additional point for every USD traded.

Rebate ranges from 2% for customers with 200 points, to an admirable 20% for customers with over 10,000 points in their account. Unfortunately, this loyalty scheme is only available to non-UK Trade Nation customers.

The broker has also previously held competitions with partnership companies, so traders are advised to look out for future promotions on their website.

Trade Nation for Beginners

As far as education goes, the broker does not seem to have anything special set up for its traders.   It offers a training academy that covers the basics of trading in addition to video tutorials.  Market analysis materials include news and analysis, in addition to an expert advisory section. However, Trade Nation offers a limited demo account (which expires after 500 trades), and customer service support is available 24/5 for all client-related and technical queries.

Educational material

Its training academy offers a limited selection of beginner guides covering basic and advanced trading concepts, as well as news.   It also offers helpful video tutorials on using the various trading platforms.

Market analysis Materials

Trade Nation offers an up-to-date section in addition to expert advice on trading strategies.  It offers real trading stories from members of its community, which is helpful for beginner traders.  The broker also supports trading through insights acquired from alternative, independent sources.

Customer support

Customer support is available 24/5 via telephone, email, and a call-back service.  Note that Trade Nation does not offer a live chat option for Australian clients. The customer support team is also available for one-to-one platform walkthroughs by appointment only.

Trading Platforms

Trade Nation prides itself on its bespoke trading platform. According to the broker, it features everything traders need and nothing they do not.  Trade Nation also offers the industry-standard MT4 – still considered a leader in the world of trading.

MetaTrader 4

MT4 is simple and easy to use and allows traders to customise the interface to their trading needs.  Price tracking is made easy and accurate, with over 50 technical tools, 30 built-in indicators, plus multiple chart types and 9 timeframes.

Trade Nation Platform

The bespoke platform is intuitive and provides flexible charting functionality through a sleek user interface.  12 interactive graph types are available such as histograms and candle charts, and it’s also easy to overlay information on graphs, with a good selection of drawing tools available. The optional deal button in the chart view means trades can be executed quickly. The chart supports scores of technical indicators and time frames. An impressive number of drawing tools are also available. Launching trades is possible directly from the charts.

Trade Nation Platform

Mobile Apps

Users can download and access MT4 and the Trade Nation platform on Windows PC, Webtrader, Android, and iOS.

Evaluation Method

We value transparency and openness in the way we review the partners. To bring transparency to the forefront, we have published our review process that includes a detailed breakdown of how we review Trade Nation’s product offering. Central to that process is the evaluation of the broker’s reliability, the platform offering of the broker, and the trading conditions offered to clients, which are summarised in this review. Each one of these is graded, and an overall score is calculated and assigned to the broker.

Risk Warning

Trading Forex is risky, and each broker is required to detail how risky the trading of Forex CFDs is to clients. Trade Nation would like you to know that:  Financial spread trading comes with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You should consider whether you understand how spread trading works and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.

Overview

A CFD market maker, Trade Nation prides itself on being completely transparent and honest.  It offers competitive, fixed spreads on a range of assets, and reasonable leverage.  Its excellent regulation means that clients can trade with full confidence that their funds are secure.

Trade Nation also goes to extra lengths to ensure its customers are supported every step of the way, offering one-to-one walk-throughs of the demo accounts and trading platforms.  Our conclusion is that Trade Nation is a good choice for beginner and advanced traders alike.
